1. The present civil writ petition has been preferred by the petitioner- Bank seeking direction in relation to a financial fraud involving misappropriation of public funds.

Learned Senior Standing Counsel for U.T, Chandigarh submits that the investigation of FIR No.2 dated 09.03.2026 and FIR No.3 dated 12.03.2026 registered at PS Economic Office Wing, Chandigarh was transferred to Central Bureau of Investigation. He submits that on the basis of communication received vide letter dated 05.05.2026 from Superintendent of Police Cyber Crime Investigation Division (CCID) EO-III/Central Bureau of Investigation, Head Quarters, New Delhi, the record related to the aforesaid FIR’s were ordered to be handed over to CBI, vide letter dated 11.05.2026 written by Superintendent of Police, Economic Offence Wing UT, Chandigarh (Annexure A-2). Consequently vide General Diaries dated 12.05.2026 and 13.05.2026 the record was duly transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The aforesaid letters/documents are ordered to be taken on record.

Learned Senior counsel on behalf of petitioner-Bank submits that apart from the aforesaid FIR’s, FIR No.4/2026 PS Anti Corruption Bureau, Panchkula, on similar facts also stood transferred to CBI for investigation and regarding the same letter (Annexure P-19) had also been sent by the petitioner Bank to the CBI regarding marking of lien pursuant to the complaint under Section 14-C so as to secure proceeds of crime. He has also reffered to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) formulated and communicated by the Ministry of Home Affairs pursuant to the orders dated 09.02.2026 passed by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in Suo Motu Writ Petition (Criminal) No.3 of 2025.

In view of the above facts, especially the fact that FIR’s No.2 and 3 (supra) originally registered by PS Economic Offence Wing, U.T, Chandigarh along with record have already been transferred to CBI for further investigation, the instant petition is hereby disposed of without commenting on the merits, giving liberty to the petitioner-Bank to move an appropriate representation to the Investigating Agency i.e. Central Bureau of Investigation for redressal of its grievances, which if made within 3 weeks from today, shall be considered and disposed of by the Central Bureau of Investigation within 4 weeks therefrom by passing speaking order and communicating the same to the petitioner-Bank.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of in above terms.

6. Pending application(s) if any, stands disposed of.
