Order

1. A public interest litigation being D.B. Civil Writ Petition No.12549/2022 was filed alleging encroachments over 14.04 Bigha of land situated in Khasra No.365 of village Silor, Tehsil Samdari, District Barmer. This Court disposed off the said writ petition on 01.09.2022 relegating the petitioner to submit a representation to the concerned District Collector, who was required to assign the matter to the Public Land Protection Cell (‘PLPC’), constituted under the directions issued by this Court in the case of Jagdish Prasad Meena Vs. State of Rajasthan & Ors. [D.B. Civil Writ Petition (PIL) No.10819/2018 decided on 30.01.2019] and it was directed that the representation be decided within a period of 6 months from the date of submission thereof.

2. The reply of the respondent shows that though the decision was not taken within 6 months but ultimately the Collector, as the Chairperson of PLPC, has passed the order on 26th July, 2024. The order shows that under the directions of this Court, various inquiries were made from time to time and after re-organization of the Balotra district, the proceedings were continued by the competent authorities and thereafter, the Tehsildar issued
