26/08/2025 Vide order dated 20.08.2025, this Court had directed the petitioner to furnish a demand draft of Rs. 25,000/- in the name of Nari Niketan, Jodhpur with the condition that if petitioner’s assertion is found to be incorrect, the amount shall be forfeited. In pursuance of the order dated 20.08.2025, the petitioner had deposited a demand draft of Rs.25,000/- in the name of Nari Niketan, Jodhpur.
The corpus has been produced in the Court by the police today.
We have conferred with her. With full confidence at her command, she stated that she is major and is not in any illegal detention and wants to live with her parents.
In view of above, the instant habeas corpus petition is hereby dismissed being devoid of merit. The corpus is set at liberty to proceed as per her desire. Rule is discharged.
It has been brought to the notice of this Court that no Bank account exists in the name of Nari Niketan Jodhpur.
The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Model Rules, 2016 provides for creation of a fund called the Juvenile Justice Fund for the welfare and rehabilitation of the children dealt with under the Act and Rules. Section 83 of the Act reads as under :-
