1. This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner with the following reliefs:-

“A. That the present writ petition be allowed.

B. That the stance of the Respondents that name change warrants application & processing threreof under Rules of 2016 is 22.01.2019 (Annex-20A) & impugned direction dated 22.02.2019 (Annexure 21) as well as all resultant/subsequent/consequent orders/directions issued by Respondents in pursuance thereof be quashed and set aside.

C. Any other appropriate writ, order, direction, which your lordship may deem Just and proper in the facts and circumstances stated herein above, may kindly be passed in favour of the petitioner.”

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the application (I.A. No. 01/24) has been filed seeking disposal of the writ petition, as the respondent-State, by way of two separate orders dated 25.06.2024 (Annex-A/2), has approved the change in the name of the petitioner from M/s Gujarat Ambuja Cement Limited to M/s Ambuja Cement Limited (without treating name change to be transfer inter vivos). He, therefore submits that in view of the change in the name of the petitioner in respect of the mining lease, sufficient relief has been granted by the respondent- State. He further prays that all decisions/directions, including the letter/instruction dated 30.04.2018 (Annex-14), letter dated 22.01.2019 (Annex-20A) and the impugned direction dated 22.02.2019 (Annex-21), whereby the petitioner was directed to get its name changed, may be quashed and set aside.

3. Learned AAG does not dispute the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner and submits that he has already responded to the application filed by the petitioner seeking disposal of the writ petition on the same ground.

4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of while observing that sufficient relief has already been granted by the respondent-State by changing the name of the petitioner from M/s Gujarat Ambuja Cement Limited to M/s Ambuja Cement Limited.

22.01.2019 (Annex-20A) and the impugned direction dated 22.02.2019 (Annex-21), whereby the petitioner was directed to get its name changed, are hereby quashed and set aside.

5. Stay petition as well all pending application, if any, also stand disposed of.
