1. With the consent of both the parties, the present writ petitions are taken-up for final disposal.

2. The present writ petitions have been filed challenging the action of the respondents in declaring the petitioners are not physically qualified in height.

3. The grievance of the petitioners is that as per the requirement of the advertisement, the candidates must have their height of 168 Cms. The case of some of the petitioners are that the height was upto the standard criteria in the Recruitment, 2021 and Recruitment, 2023, whereas in the Recruitment, 2025, the height shown to be not meeting with the standard criteria of 168 Cms. and some of the petitioners case is that in the measurement done by the officers, height of the petitioners was found to be 167 Cms., whereas on the advise of the Recruitment Board, they were referred to the Medical Board and the Medical Board was found the height of the petitioner is 168 Cms. There is a conflicting measurements in the case of the petitioners in the same Recruitment Process, therefore, they seek directions to re-verify their height by the appropriate Authority constituted by the Recruitment Board.

Learned counsel appearing for the State submitted that the measurement was properly done and it cannot be said that merely because in the previous recruitment, they were found to be meeting their standard height and in the subsequent recruitment even though they are not meeting with the criteria, they cannot be said meeting the criteria in the present recruitment. It is also his contention that the said measurements were done by automation and there is no manual intervention, so as to give any wrong measurement, therefore, he request to dismiss the writ petition.

The facts in hand disclosed that some of the petitioners in the previous recruitment measured by the same Recruitment Board, they were found to be meeting with the criteria of height as prescribed in the recruitment process. The standard height in the previous recruitment and in the present recruitment is one and same i.e. 168 Cms. and the facts relating to one of the petitioner show that the measurement done by automation reflects 167 CMs, whereas manual measurement done by the Medical Board reflects 168 Cms. There is a variation in the assessment of height in the same recruitment and in the said background, this Court inclined to dispose of the present writ petitions by directing the respondents-Authorities to re-verify the height of the petitioners.

6. In the result, writ petition is disposed of and, the concerned District Superintendents of Police are directed to re-verify the height of the petitioners in his presence by the Competent Officers and the said
