1. This writ petition is filed by the petitioner with the prayer to quash and set aside the order dated 21.07.2025, passed by the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, Ajmer, whereby the representation of the petitioner for correction of date of birth and the name of the petitioner's father in the certificate/marksheet of secondary examination-2023 was rejected.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was born on 08.02.2009 and the birth certificate was issued on 07.03.2019 by the competent authority. He also submits that due to inadvertence while submitting the examination form for the secondary examination-2023, the date of birth of the petitioner was incorrectly mentioned as 05.07.2009 in place of correct date of birth i.e. 08.02.2009. Counsel further submits that the father's name of the petitioner is "RAJVEER", but due to typographical error, the name of the petitioner's father was mentioned as "RAJBEER".

Learned counsel further submits that the aforesaid corrections are the bonafide corrections required to be made in the marksheet/certificate. He further submits that the respondents, in illegal and arbitrary manner, rejected the claim of the petitioner for correction.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that the date of birth of the petitioner and her father's name have been mentioned in the marksheet/certificate of secondary examination- 2023 on the basis of the entries filled up by the petitioner herself in the examination form. Counsel also submits that the birth certificate submitted by the petitioner is of a very later stage i.e.

after 10 years of her birth.

4. Considered the submissions made at bar and also perused the material made available on record.

5. As per the birth certificate, the date of birth of the petitioner is 08.02.2009. The birth certificate has been issued by the competent authority based on the documentary evidence as required for issuance of the birth certificate. Since the birth certificate was issued by the competent authority much prior to the appearance of the petitioner in the secondary examination- 2023 and nothing has been submitted by the respondent to disbelieve the birth certificate and the date of birth of the petitioner as 08.02.2009, therefore in view of the authentic documentary evidence as regards the date of birth, the Court is of the opinion that required correction in the marksheet/certificate of secondary examination-2023 of the petitioner is just and proper.

6. On perusal of the documents available on record including the Aadhar Card of the petitioner, her father's name is "RAJVEER". However, in the marksheet/certificate, it has been mentioned as "RAJBEER". While submitting the application form, the person filling the entries may have written "RAJBEER" instead of "RAJVEER" may be because of pronunciation. The other documents also reveal that the name of the petitioner's father is "RAJVEER". Making correction of only one alphabet in the name of the father of the petitioner does not in any manner prejudice the respondent/s. Hence, in opinion of the Court, the claimed correction in the father's name of the petitioner is also just and proper.
