1. Petitioner has filed this writ petition with following prayer:

"It is, therefore, most humbly and respectfully prayed that your lordships may very graciously be pleased to admit/allow this writ petition and be further pleased to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature thereof:-

(i) The impugned actions of Respondent RSSB denying correction in application of Petitioner for inclusion of Sports Persons category may kindly be declared as illegal and arbitrary therefore, it may kindly be quashed and set aside;

(ii) the respondents may kindly be directed by writ of mandamus, order or direction in the nature thereof;

a) To add the category of sports person in the application form of Petitioner; b) to consider the candidature of Petitioner under Sports person category and call him for counselling (documentation verification and eligibility check) before declaring the final result of Class IV Employee Direct Recruitment-2024;

c) To consider the candidature of Petitioner under Sports person category in further selection process of Class IV Employee Direct Recruitment-2024; (iii) Any other order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem just and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case may kindly also be passed in favour of humble petitioner including award of cost of this writ petition."

It is stated by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner applied pursuant to advertisement No. 19/2024 issued by Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, Jaipur for recruitment on the post of Class-IV Employee however, on account of bona fide human error, the petitioner omitted to mention category of outstanding sports person. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner has acquired more marks than the cut off marks declared by the respondent-Department for outstanding sports person category.

Learned counsel submits that the petitioner is possessing certificate of Inter-University Tournament organized by University Sports Board certifying that the petitioner had participated in Inter University Tournament. Therefore, the petitioner is entitled to be considered in the category of outstanding sports person but, despite representation dated 05.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner, same has not been considered.

4. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the record.

5. This Court also examined the certificate possessed by the petitioner and compared the same with the requirements in the advertisement for applying under the category of outstanding sports person. Firstly, the certificate has been issued by University Sports Board, which has not been recognized in the advertisement as a valid certificate and secondly, it was simply a certificate of participation whereas only the candidates, who secured any medal in the sports events conducted by the recognized bodies/institutes, are entitled to be considered in the category of 'outstanding sports person'.

6. For the reasons mentioned hereinabove, where the petitioner does not possess a recognized certificate therefore, he is not entitled for consideration of his candidature in 'outstanding sports person' category.

7. In view of above, there is no scope of interference in the instant writ petition and the same is hereby, dismissed.

8. Pending application(s), if any, shall stand disposed of.
