1. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the appellant submits that the appellant’s vehicle is registered with the State of Arunachal Pradesh. The registration of the said vehicle has been suspended by the State of Rajasthan which cannot be done in light of the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court passed in Mahendra Gupta Vs. State of Madhya Pradesh & Ors.

Reported in 2025 SCC OnLine MP 27.

2. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-State seeks short time as the copy of the present Special Appeal Writ has been supplied to their office today itself.

3. List the matter on 14.09.2026.

4. Meanwhile, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-State is directed to seek instructions with regard to the jurisdiction and the order of suspension passed under Section (2 of 2) [SAW-901/2026]

53 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 read with the Rajasthan Motor Vehicles Rules, 1990 for a vehicle registered in the State of Arunachal Pradesh.
