2024 Supreme(Online)(SC) 1305

SUPREME COURT OF INDIA
VEERU – Appellant
Versus
VEERU – Respondent

ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief:- “Issue an appropriate writ, order or direction expediting the disposal of the bail application in Criminal Appeal No. 3094/2020, titled ‘Veeru vs. State of U.P.’”. This Court has, time and again, stated and reiterated that High Courts are not subordinate Courts of the Supreme Court of India. In that view of the matter, there cannot be any doubt with respect to the fact that the prayer made in the writ petition cannot be entertained in this writ petition. There is nothing in this writ petition which would reveal that the petitioner, who is a convict for the offence under Section 376, IPC and Section 6 of the POCSO Act, has taken appropriate steps to get the application for bail posted for early hearing after it was adjourned on earlier occasions. If the petitioner is aggrieved by the delay in consideration Digitally signed by Dr.

Naveen Rawal Date: 2024.02.09 16:49:01 IST Reason:

Signature Not Verified of his application for bail, he has to take recourse to appropriate steps before the High Court. With this observation and liberty, the writ petition is dismissed. (DR. NAVEEN RAWAL)
