O R D E R

1. The instant Writ Petition has been filed invoking writ jurisdiction of this Court under Article 32 of the Constitution, seeking a direction for providing reservation for women in the Bar Associations in the State of Gujarat as well as the Bar Council of Gujarat.

2. As of now, we deem it appropriate to consider the matter only with respect to the High Court Bar Association and all the District Bar Associations in the State of Gujarat.

3. Vide order dated 31.01.2025, the High Court’s Bar Association at Ahmedabad and the Civil Court Lawyers’ Association were directed to be impleaded as party respondents for proper adjudication of the issue in question. On being impleaded, notice was issued to the newly added respondents on 17.03.2025.

5. Keeping in mind the view taken by this Court in the case of Supreme Court Bar Association vs. B.D. Kaushik & Anr.

[M.A……..Diary No.13992/2023], Fozia Rahman vs. Bar Council of Delhi & Anr. [SLP(C) No.24485/2024], and Deeksha N. Amruthesh vs. State of Karnataka & Ors. [SLP(C) No.1404/2025], we see no reason to take a different view in this case of the Bar Associations of the State of Gujarat.

6. Consequently, it is directed that 30% posts of Executive Members along with that of `Treasurer’ of the High Court Bar Associations as well as all the District Bar Associations shall be exclusively earmarked/reserved for women advocates.

7. So far as such reservation in the Bar Councils is concerned, the matter shall be taken up separately in respect of all the State Bar Councils as well as the Bar Council of India.

8. The Writ Petition stands disposed of in the above terms.
