Settlement terms mutually agreed upon dissolved the marital relationship under the court's jurisdiction, concluding all disputes.

ORDER

1. Our Order dated 7-1-2026 reads thus:-

1. We are happy to note that the parties ultimately have been able to arrive at an amicable settlement.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the parties brought to our notice that the wife has agreed to accept a lump-sum amount of Rs.25,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Lakh only) towards full and final settlement. So far, Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh only) has been deposited in the account of the wife. The balance amount of Rs.23,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Three Lakh Only) would be paid by the husband to the wife by 31-1-2026.

3. We want the Settlement to be reduced into writing duly signed by the parties.

4. Once the settlement comes on record, we shall proceed to pass further order.

5. Post this matter on 6-2-2026.

2. Today, the Settlement Agreement arrived at between the parties before the Supreme Court Mediation Centre has been placed on record.

3 The Settlement Agreement reads thus:-

“This Settlement Agreement is entered into on 06^th January, 2026 at New Delhi between:

Ms. Ragini Gupta, D/o Late. Sh. Om Prakash Gupta, R/o- H No. 50/1, Rajaji Oval Marg, Gun Carrige Factory Estate, District Reason: Jabalpur, M.P. - 482011 (hereinafter referred to as “FIRST PARTY”)

AND

Mr. Surendra Kumar Chaurasia, S/o Sh. Jangi Lal Chaurasia, R/o H No. D 183, Mahavir Chowk, Shyam Park Extn. Sahibabad Ghaziabad U.P.- 201005 (hereinafter referred to as “SECOND PARTY”).

WHEREAS The Hon’ble Supreme Court by its Order dated 03.12.2025 has referred the present matter to the Supreme Court Mediation Centre. Comprehensive mediation sessions were held with the physical presence of the parties with their respective counsels on 16.12.2025, and 06.01.2026 and the parties have been able to arrive at this settlement out of their own free will and without any force/coercion or pressure on the following terms entered into voluntarily and amicably to bring to an end their long pending differences and undertake not to re-agitate the same in any manner in future.

AND WHEREAS the marriage between the parties was solemnized on 04.02.2012 in accordance with Hindu Rites, Customs and Ceremonies at Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, U.P. The parties have been separated since June 2014. The parties have one daughter namely Ms. Vaibhavi born on 08.05.2014 and is about 11 years as on date.

AND WHEREAS the parties have agreed to mutually divorce each other and file appropriate application before the Hon’ble Supreme Court praying for the same.

The parties have arrived at the following settlement:

1. Respondent husband Mr. Surendra Kumar Chaurasia has agreed to pay a full and final settlement amount of Rs. 25,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Lakhs only) in two tranches. The first tranche of Rs. 12,50,000/- (Rupees Twelve Lakh Fifty Thousand Only) shall be paid on or before 16.01.2026 and second tranche of Rs. 12,50,000/- (Rupees Twelve Lakh Fifty Thousand Only) shall be paid on or before 31.01.2026. The respondent husband Mr. Surendra Kumar Chaurasia has agreed to remit an amount of Rs. 2,00,000/- (Two Lakh Only) as part of the first tranche today 06.01.2026 itself. The petitioner wife Ms. Ragini Gupta agrees to the same. The said amount is in full and final settlement towards the Petitioner Mrs. Ragini Gupta and the daughter Ms. Vaibhavi. That all amounts shall be remitted by RTGS/NEFT by the Respondent Husband to the account of the Petitioner Wife bearing account No.3643096868 having IFSC Code CB1N0280742, Central Bank of India, Gokalpur, Jabalpur Branch, Madhya Pradesh.

2. The petitioner wife Ms. Ragini Gupta shall have custody of daughter namely Ms. Vaibhavi and the respondent husband Mr. Surendra Kumar Chaurasia has agreed to have no contact with the daughter.

3. The following cases are pending between the parties and for which the parties shall be making an appropriate prayer before the Hon’ble Supreme Court for a closure of the same;
