O R D E R
1. After hearing learned counsel for the parties and considering the facts and circumstances of the case, we are, prima facie, of the opinion that the issues raised in SLP(Civil) Diary Nos.52786 of 2024, 52785 of 2024, 54358 of 2025 and 55862 of 2025 can be resolved in case the candidates who are before this Court and in three petitions pending before the High Court are offered appointment as Sub-Inspectors at the bottom of the seniority list after the previous selection, which was concluded on 27th October, 2025. The vacancies may be available to adjust these candidates as the fresh selection process initiated in 2025 for filling up of
1299 posts is still in progress.
2. It shall be subject to the condition that the list after their result is evaluated in terms of the Single Judge Bench judgment dated 16th February, 2021 passed by the High Court in W.P.(MD) No.197 of 2021 and connected matters.
3. Learned counsel for the State seeks time to have instructions.
4. Adjourned to 12th March, 2026.
