O R D E R

The Committee constituted in pursuance of the order dated 21.11.2025 has forwarded a detailed interim report which runs into nearly 202 pages. The Committee has compartmentalized the report under various heads. The report, inter alia, contains an introduction to the entire Luni River system; details of the industries operating in the districts of Jodhpur, Pali and Balotra; particulars of the Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) functioning in these areas, including their installed capacities and operational load; and the Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) operating in the region.

The report further records the findings of the inspections carried out by the Committee in the villages, factories and other locations situated along the river system and also contains photographic material depicting the large-scale damage and environmental degradation caused by the overflowing of the effluent-filled river system. The report also sets out the directions issued by the Committee from time to time, the steps taken by the concerned authorities pursuant thereto, the proposed course of action in furtherance of this Court’s judgment dated 22.11.2025, the recommendations as contemplated in the said judgment, and the logistical issues being faced by the Committee in efficaciously carrying out the mandate entrusted to it by this Court.

We request the Registrar-cum-Nodal Officer of the Committee to forward a soft copy of the interim report (including the annexures) so that the same can be provided to all learned counsel representing the parties. The soft copy, once received, shall be uploaded and also circulated to the learned counsel appearing for the respective parties.
