NARESH KATYAL, JUDICIAL MEMBER:
Delay of 04 days in filing of present appeal stands condoned for reasons mentioned in application seeking condonation of delay and accompanying affidavit which, in opinion of this Commission do constitute ‘sufficient cause’.
2. Challenge in this Appeal No.1209 of 2018 has been invited by insurer/appellant against order dated 29.08.2018 passed by learned District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-Fatehabad (In short “District Consumer Commission”) in complaint case No.278 of 2017, vide which complainant’s complaint has been allowed.
3. Factual matrix: Complainant’s husband-Ranjeet Singh obtained Life Insurance Policy No. 16575976, Plan: HDFC Life Click 2 Project, on 20.01.2014. Premium amount was Rs.4708/-. Sum Assured was Rs.10.00 lacs. Complainant was ‘nominee’ of life assured-Ranjeet Singh in this policy. Life assured-Ranjeet Singh expired on 25.11.2014 due to heart attack. OPs were informed in writing about death of life assured. Complainant submitted Claim Statement Form along with requisite documents for settlement of death claim.
