This Appeal is filed Under Section 41 of the Consumer Protection Act seeking enhancement of compensation against the order dated: 06.12.2023 passed in CC No.26/2023 on the file of the III Additional Bangalore Urban District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (in short “the District Commission”).
02. The Appellant was the complainant and Respondent Nos.1 & 2 are the opposite party Nos.1 & 2 before the District Commission. For the sake of convenience the rank of the parties shall be referred to as per the status before the District Commission.
03. The brief facts of the case is that, the complainant is a retired staff of the Canara Bank. There is a scheme formulated by the Canara Bank to cover the medi-claim of their retired employees and for consolidated retired employees Canara Bank had obtained Group Insurance in the name of “Tailor Made with Floater policy” bearing No. 251100502210000286. Under the policy the risk of the complainant is covered for various ailments in terms of the policy.
04. On 14.12.2022 complainant has suffered a tooth ache and she has visited Dr. Achyuth Baliga of Manipal Hospital, Airport Road,
