This is an appeal by the opposite parties / appellants – SBI Life Insurance Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as ‘Insurance Company’) directed against the order dated 31.12.2021 passed by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Ashoknagar (for short ‘District Commission’) in complaint case no.497/2021, whereby the District Commission has allowed the complaint filed by complainant / respondent no.1. 2. Briefly put, facts of the case are that the late husband of the complainant / respondent no.1 Shri Harnaam Singh Khare (hereinafter referred to as ‘deceased insured’) had applied for ‘SBI Smart Swadhan Yojana’ vide proposal dated 03.01.2020. Policy no.1 Z 782468908 was issued to him, the date of commencement of which was 06.01.2030, and sum assured was Rs.9,00,000/-. It is further submitted by the complainant / respondent no.1 that the deceased insured suddenly fell ill and was immediately taken to Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal, where during treatment he died on 07.01.2020.
