ORDER

PER: - JUSTICE GAUTAM CHOURDIYA, PRESIDENT This complaint, under Section 47 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act” for short), has been filed by the complainants alleging deficiency in service and unfair trade practice on the part of the opposite parties in not paying the deposited amounts in 19 (Nineteen) TDR and 02 (two) RD accounts with interest i.e. a total amount of Rs.1,97,42,705/- (One Crore Ninety Seven Lacs Forty Two Thousand Seven Hundred Five), compensation towards mental agony, deficiency in service and unfair trade practice Rs.1,00,000/- along with cost of litigation and any other reliefs, this Commission deems fit to award.

2. Briefly stated the necessary facts for disposal of this complaint are that the complainant Nos.1 & 2 are retired Government employees. They deposited all their savings and the retirement amounts received from the Government with the opposite party No.3 Sub Post Office in TDR accounts and FD accounts for their daughter’s marriage and old age, details of which, as mentioned in the complaint, are as under : -
