JUDGMENT:
This appeal is directed against the conviction and sentence passed in S.C. No. 112 of 2000 by the Special Judge for Trial of Offences under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Prakasam District at Ongole on 20.07.2004.
2. The appellant herein, who is the accused, was prosecuted for the offences under Sec. 307 IPC and Sec.3 (1) (x) and (xi) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. According to the prosecution, PW-1 was married and residing at her native place with her children in the house of her mother attending to coolie work. The accused was running after her frequently to have intercourse with her. All the time PW-1 was refusing and also chastised the accused. After confirming that PW-1 will not cooperate with him, the accused developed grudge against her and waiting for an opportunity to wreck vengeance against PW-1.
3. On the night of 27.01.2000, the accused having noticed PW-1 sleeping inside the house adjacent to the window, inserted his hand with the acid bottle inside the house through the window and poured acid on the face of PW-1. Immediately, she woke up with burning sensation on h
