ORDER:

This Writ Petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is filed seeking the following relief:

“….to issue a Writ or Direction or an Order more particularly one in the nature of WRIT OF MANDAMUS declaring inaction of the respondent No.4 in not considering the representation of Petitioner dated 04.06.2024 for change of name and the date of birth in the petitioner’s Passport vide No.Y4649974 as per Aadhar card and the PAN Card as illegal, arbitrary and against the fundamental rights of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondent No.4 to consider the representation of the petitioner for change of name and the date of birth in the Passport as per Aadhar and PAN card …”

2. It is the case of the petitioner that initially, he was issued passport bearing No.F1467739 on 25.11.2004, and the same was subsequently renewed and issued Passport No.Y4649974 on 02.06.2014. It is further case of the petitioner that due to miscommunication, his passport was issued with incorrect name i.e, his nickname "Syed Waheed" instead of actual name “Syed Jeelani Hashmi" and the date of birth was also wro
