HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE C.V.BHASKAR REDDY Writ Petition No.8159 of 2024

ORDER:

This Writ Petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is filed by the petitioner, seeking the following relief:

“….to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the 2^nd respondent in not issuing the passport to the petitioner is unjust and illegal and consequently direct the 2^nd respondent to issue passport on the lines of passport which was issued in the year 2011 with (sic) correct name ..”.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that she is the holder of Indian Passport bearing No.J8357146 which expired on 03.10.2021 and she made an application No.HY3074556102122, dated 05.09.2022 to the respondent No.2 through online seeking to reissue the passport. It is further case of the petitioner that instead of reissuing the passport, respondent No.2 issued letter vide Ref.No.OBJ/313456069/22, dated 06.10.2022 and also Show Cause Notice vide No.HYD/30/POL/PCC/309/2022 dated 20.10.2022, stating that initially, she obtained passport bearing No.A2134101 dated 30.08.1996 from the office of respondent No.2 with name as Khadeera Bageum and date
