THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE NAGESH BHEEMAPAKA
Mohammed Zaheed – Appellant
Versus

WP 36844/2025
HIGH COURT FOR THE STATE OF TELANGANA AT HYDERABAD THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE NAGESH BHEEMAPAKA WRIT PETITION No.36844 OF 2025 DATE OF ORDER 10.12.2025 Between Mohammed Zaheed ...Petitioner And Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and 2 others ...Respondents
ORDER:
This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief:
“….to issue a writ, order or orders or direction one in the nature of Mandamus declaring the action of the Respondents No.1 and 2 in rejecting the request of the Petitioner for updating his address in the Aadhar Card and consequently direct the Respondents No.1 and 2 to update the Aadhar Card as per the Requests raised by the Petitioner vide SRN No.S1355558629810 dated 31 August, 2025 and SRN No.S1318262148500 dated 18 October, 2025.…”
2. The brief facts of the case are that the petitioner applied for the the petitioner. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner again applied for request without specifying the reasons for rejection. Hence, this writ petition.
3. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent No.1 on instructions would submit that the petitioner has made request for updating address in his Aadhar Card, wherein it is evident that the petitioner has entered his father’s name in the field of Building Number as S/o. Mohammed Zakir Hussain, in the update form, while trying to update his address in Self Service Upload Portal (SSUP) using Voter ID Card as Proof of Address (PoA) document. Hence, SRN No.S1355558629810 dated 31.08.2025 was rejected. Subsequently the petitioner again tried to update his address in similar way i.e., entered his father’s name against Building Number, using the same document (Voter ID Card as Proof of Address (PoA), and SRN No.S1318262148500, dated 18.10.2025, was also rejected. In both the cases, the reasons for rejection reflected as “mismatch of details in enrolment/update form and Proof of Address document. Kindly update again.” It is further submitted that the petitioner is advised to update his address in SSUP
with valid Proof of Address.
4. In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to file fresh application for updating his address
along with valid Proof of Address (PoA) document as per UIDAI’s list of valid supporting documents, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such submission, respondents are directed to consider the application, in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks. There shall be no order as to costs.
Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed.
