ORDER:

The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a writ of Mandamus declaring the action of respondent No.1 in cancelling the petitioner’s passport bearing No.U4665895, valid from 27.07.2020 to 26.07.2030, by punching and invalidating it without notice, as arbitrary, illegal, void and violative of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India, and consequently direct respondent No.1 to restore the said passport by substituting the name of the petitioner’s husband as “Yarraboth Srikanth Reddy” in place of “Santosh Daggi”.

2. Heard Sri P.V. Krishnaiah, learned counsel for the petitioner and Smt. NVR. Rajyalakshmi, learned counsel representing Sri N. Bhujanga Rao, learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, for the respondents.

3. The case of the petitioner is that she initially married one Sri Santosh Daggi on 14.11.2019 but due to differences, both parties executed a mutual divorce deed on 10.08.2021. Subsequently, the petitioner married Sri Yarraboth Srikanth Reddy on 17.10.2021, and the marriage was registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 before the Registrar, Hindu issued on 12.04.2022.
