ORDER:

This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief:

“…to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the Respondent No.6 in calling the petitioner to the Police Station and harassing him by involving into the civil dispute between the petitioner and the 7th respondent is illegal, arbitrary and in violation of principles of natural justice, and consequently direct the Respondent Nos. 4 to 6 not to call upon the petitioner to the Banjara Hills Police Station, and pass…”

2. Heard Ms.G.Nithya, learned counsel for the petitioner representing Pilix Law Firm and Mr.D.Pradeep, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home appearing for respondents No.1 to 6.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondent No. 6 has been calling the petitioner to the police station and harassing him by involving himself in the civil disputes pending between the petitioner and respondent No. 7. Hence, the present petition has been filed seeking appropriate directions.

4. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home submits that the respondents/police authorities, particularly respondent No. 6, have never interfered in the civil disputes as alleged by the petitioner. It is contended that the allegations are baseless, and dismissal of the petition is sought.

5. I have perused the material available on record.

6. Having regard to the assertions made by the petitioner in the affidavit, the stand taken by the respondents/police authorities that they are not involved in the civil disputes between the petitioner and respondent No. 7, and considering the well-settled limitations on police involvement in civil matters, the respondents/police authorities, particularly respondent No. 6, are directed not to interfere in the civil disputes between the petitioner and respondent No. 7, save and except in strict accordance with law and by following due process.

7. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed.
