ORDER:

This Criminal Petition is filed by the petitioners – accused Nos.1 and 2 seeking to quash the proceedings in STC.No.182 of 2022 passed by the learned VII Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Cyberabad at Hayathnagar, Ranga Reddy District, registered for the offences under Section 504 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code (for short “IPC”).

2. Heard the submissions of Ms. E. Savithri, learned counsel for the petitioners and Sri Jithender Rao Veeramalla, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for respondent No.1 – State.

3. The learned petitioners counsel has submitted that there is a marriage dispute between the daughter of the de-facto complainant and accused No.2 and that the petitioners tried to pacify the situation between them and that for no fault of them, the present case is foisted against the petitioners. Thus, the allegations do not attract the ingredients of Section 504 of the Indian Penal Code. He further submitted that in the light of the dicta laid down in State of Haryana Vs. Bhajan Lal, AIR 1992 SC 604, the proceedings against the petitioners have to be quashed.
