ORDER:

Heard Sri M.V.Pratap Reddy, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader for Services (Home) appearing on behalf of the respondents.

2. The petitioners approached this Court seeking the prayer as under:

“….Under these circumstances it is just and necessary that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a writ, order or direction more in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring that the action on the part of the Respondents in not considering the claim of the petitioners for promotion as Deputy Superintendent of Police in accordance with their placements assigned in final seniority list communicated vide Proceedings Rc.No.260/E1/2014, dated 03.11.2017 and to effect promotions batch wise (Sub Inspectors of Police) as illegal, arbitrary and contrary to law and in violation of the Article 14 and 16 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to consider the claims of the petitioners for promotion as Deputy Superintendent of Police in accordance with their placements assigned in final seniority list communicated vide Proceedings Rc.No.260/E1/2014, dated 03.11.2017 without effecting promotions on batch wise basis and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case.”

3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners brings to the notice of this Court that subsequent to filing of the present writ petition, all the petitioners herein had been promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police and therefore, no further orders are necessary.

4. Bringing the said submission of the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners on record, the writ petition is closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous applications, if any, pending shall stand closed.
