This Criminal Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short, ‘BNSS’) by the petitioner/accused No.1, seeking anticipatory bail in Crime No.337 of 2024 of Regonda Police Station, Jayashankar Bhupalpally District registered for the offence punishable under Sections 85, 108, 46 r/w 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhitha, 2023 (for short ‘BNS’) and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 (for short ‘D.P.Act’).

The case of prosecution in brief is that on 07.12.2024, Bathini Bhadraiah, lodged a complaint before the police stating that his daughter, Chennavena Larya, was harassed physically and mentally by her husband, Chennavena Raju, and his family members, who demanded additional dowry from her parents.
