O R D E R:

The present Criminal Petition is filed seeking to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.604 of 2023 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate of First Class, at Jangaon District, Telangana against the petitioners/accused Nos.1 to 3, 5 and 6 for the offences punishable under Section 498-A of I.P.C. and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

2. Heard Mr.K.Sathakarni, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.E.Ganesh, learned Assistant Public Prosecutor appearing for respondent No.1-State.

3. The brief facts of the case are that on 28.03.2023, respondent No.2/complainant lodged a complaint against the petitioners stating that her marriage was performed with petitioner No.1/accused No.1 on 23.05.2021; that at the time of marriage, her parents gave dowry of Rs.15,00,000/- and other house hold articles worth Rs.1,00,000/- to her husband. Respondent No.2 stated that after marriage, her husband, her in- laws i.e., petitioner Nos.2 and 3/accused Nos.2 and 3, harassed her mentally and physically, for want of additional dowry.
