This writ petition is filed by the petitioner seeking to declare the action of respondent authorities in not cancelling his wrong date of birth certificate inadvertently and erroneously registered under the Book No.12, Sl. No.80, as per the Section 15 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 (for short ‘Act 1969’), as being illegal, arbitrary and unconstitutional.

2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for GHMC, and perused the material on record.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he was born on 12.02.2003 at Pushpa Maternity and Nursing Home vide premises No.16-145/A/9, Judges Colony, Malakpet, Hyderabad. The petitioner is the son of Mr. Nirmal Kumar Rathi and Ms. Monika Rathi. The grandfather of the petitioner by name Mr. Bankatlal Rathi, who was ninety (90) years old then, was the elder person of the Hindu joint family and got the date of birth of the petitioner recorded as 12.05.2003 instead of 12.02.2003.
