ORDER:

This Criminal Petition is filed by the petitioner-accused seeking to quash the proceedings in SC No.447 of 2023 on the file of the District and Sessions Judge, Ranga Reddy District at L.B. Nagar, for the offences under Sections 376, 420, 417 and 506 IPC.

2. Heard Sri KVN Prasad, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri Jithender Rao Veeramalla, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent No.1-State.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the de facto complainant is a married woman and that the allegation that the petitioner has committed rape on her is utterly false. He further submitted that both the petitioner and the respondent No.2 are advocates and that since she is a married woman the petitioner never entertained any relationship with her and has also not promised anything to her and never deceived in any manner. He further submitted that there is a huge delay in lodging the complaint and the alleged offence is shown to have occurred on 05.05.2022 and the complaint is lodged on 03.10.2022 and the delay is not explained. Therefore, he prayed to quash the proceedings.
