ORDER:

1. This Writ Petition is filed challenging the order dated 26.12.2024, issued by the 2^nd respondent, rejecting the petitioner’s request for correction of the date of birth in the passport bearing No.P1184323 as 17.01.1956 instead of

01.01.1956.

2. Heard Mr. Md. Nawaz Hyder Ali, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Smt. N.V.R.Rajya Lakshmi, learned Standing Counsel for the Central Government, representing the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India for respondent No. 1. Perused the record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner had initially obtained a passport bearing No.M556730, dated 31.01.1978, in which his date of birth was incorrectly mentioned as 01.01.1956 instead of 17.01.1956. Subsequently, petitioner obtained another passport bearing No.P1184323, dated 05.05.2016, valid up to 04.05.2026, wherein the same incorrect date of birth was continued. Accordingly, petitioner submitted an application dated 19.11.2024 to the 2^nd respondent requesting correction of the said date of birth.
