ORDER:

Mr. L.Ram Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner.

Mr. Tandra Ramesh, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department, appears for respondent No.1.

Mr. T.Sharath, learned Standing Counsel for Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (hereinafter referred to as, “the University”), appears for respondent No.2.

2. Petitioner seeks consideration of her prayer for registration and exercise of web option for admission to and participating in the ongoing counselling process for the academic year 2025-26.

3. The case of the petitioner is that due to inadvertent mistake, she could not report to the college in time where she was allotted the seat under Management Quota “B”

category.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that now the petitioner intends to participate in the next round of counselling for admission into MBBS/BDS course. He further submits that the respondents may be directed to consider the representation of the petitioner in line with similar order dated 21.08.2025, passed by this Court, in other case such as W.P.No.24560 of 2025.

5. Learned Standing Counsel for the University submits that the last date of applications for registration has been closed and the University cannot extend the date. He submits that the counselling process has commenced, after the issue of ‘local candidate’ was decided by the Hon’ble Supreme Court vide judgment dated 01.09.2025 in Special Leave Petition (C) Nos.21536-21588 of 2024. Therefore, the University would not be in a position to entertain the petitioner’s application for registration for admission to It would be a futile exercise.

Having regard to the aforesaid circumstances and upon consideration of the submission of learned counsel for the parties, we are of the view that since the admission to MBBS/BDS course has a definite timeline required to be adhered to by the University and the cut off dates for application or counselling are sacrosanct, there is no point in asking the University to consider the petitioner’s application for fresh registration and participating in the ongoing counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS course under Management Quota ‘B’ category. Therefore, we are not inclined to issue any directions to that effect.

7. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

8. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in case the date of applications for registration to the above courses is extended, the University may be directed to consider the application of the petitioner for registration for admission to MBBS/BDS

9. It goes without saying that in case the date of applications for registration to the above courses is extended, it would open for the petitioner to make such an application, which would be considered by the respondents in accordance with law.

Miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand closed.
