Mr. R.Nagarjuna Reddy, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department appears for respondent No.1 and Mr. T.Sharath, learned Standing Counsel for Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, appears for respondent No.2 (hereinafter referred to as, “the University”).

2. With the consent of the learned counsel for the parties, the matter is heard finally.

3. Petitioner, a resident of Telangana State, obtained registration for admission to MBBS/BDS course, under management quota, for the academic year 2025-26. She had secured All India Rank 1166906 under OBC category. Petitioner contends that she submitted an application for admission into MBBS/BDS course, for the academic year 2025-26, under ‘B&C’ category with requisite fee before the cut-off date. However, due to technical issue, she could not exercise web option in the first phase of counselling, for admission into MBBS/BDS course, under ‘B&C’ category for the academic year 2025-26 before 2:00 p.m. on 24.09.2025, in terms of the notification dated 22.09.2025 (Annexure P.1).

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has approached this Court since, even after approaching the University, her request was not entertained. He prays that the respondents be directed to consider the case of the petitioner in line with similar order dated 06.10.2025, passed by this Court, in W.P.No.30299 of 2025.

5. Learned Standing Counsel for the University has referred to the notification dated 22.09.2025. It is submitted that the note and instructions to the candidates, categorically specify that the candidates in the final merit list, who do not exercise web options in the first phase of counselling, shall not be eligible to exercise web options in the subsequent phase of counselling to prevent seat blocking. Petitioner is one such candidate, who has not exercised her web options in the first round of counselling nor has opted for admission into MBBS/BDS course under ‘B&C’ category, where after only she could avail the remaining seats under the said category. He submits that the corrigendum dated 04.10.2025 and 06.10.2025 permits fresh registrations only to such candidates, who had exercised web options. Therefore, the petitioner does not fit in the said category. He, however, submits that if the petitioner makes a representation, the University would consider it in accordance with law.

Having considered the submissions of learned counsel for the petitioner as also the learned Standing counsel for University and having regard to the above facts and circumstances, petitioner is allowed liberty to make a representation before respondent No.2-University in respect of her claim for exercise of web options for admission into MBBS/BDS course, for the academic year 2025-26, under ‘B&C’ category. On receipt of such representation, the University would consider the same in accordance with law within a period of two days.

7. If the University allows the petitioner to exercise her web options, her case shall be considered in the unfilled seats in the mop-up round.

8. Let it be made clear that we have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.

9. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.

As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, pending if any, stand closed.
