ORDER:
Learned counsel Sri Ch.Ravi Kumar appears for the petitioner.
Learned Senior Counsel Sri G.Vidya Sagar, representing learned counsel Sri P.Sudheer Rao, appears for respondent No.1.
Ms. Shazia Parveen, learned Government Pleader for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, appears for respondent Nos.2 and 3.

The petitioner has approached this Court alleging that respondent No.1 - State Election Commission (hereinafter referred to as, “the Commission”), has not yet registered it as a political party and not allotted a common symbol to participate in the forthcoming Panchayat Raj local body elections in the State of Telangana in pursuance of the applications made by it on 21.08.2025 and 22.09.2025 and also to further direct the Commission to register it as a political party and allot a common symbol to participate in the local body elections for which, according to it, a schedule has been issued on 29.09.2025.

According to the petitioner, in compliance of the provisions of the Registration of Political Parties and Allotment of Symbols Order, 2018 (hereinafter referred to as, “the 2018 Order”), as amended up to 07.12.2023, a paper publication has been made on 21.09.2025 in two newspapers, one in Hindi and one in Telugu. The period of fifteen days has also expired after the paper publication and the Commission has not yet acted upon its application. Therefore, the petitioner has been compelled to approach this Court.
4. Learned Senior Counsel appearing for the Commission submits that the Commission has to process the applications of the petitioner as per the provisions of the 2018 Order. The petitioner cannot compel the Commission to immediately register it and allot the common symbol, unless all the statutory requirements are satisfied. It is submitted that the writ petition is otherwise also premature.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances noted above and without commenting upon the merits of the case of the parties, the writ petition is disposed of with an observation that the Commission would consider the applications of the petitioner and process them in accordance with law in a reasonable time. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand closed.
