ORDER:

In this writ petition, the petitioners are challenging the action of the respondents in deleting the Gudi Thanda i.e., Kokkiramla Gouramam and the land situated in Survey Nos.40 to 69 of Kokkiramla Gouramam Revenue Village of Bothya Thanda Gram Panchayat to constitute a new Gram Panchayat namely Balaji Thanda Gram Panchayat with 305 voters only and also in not considering the representations of the petitioners dated 07.08.2024, as illegal and arbitrary.

2. Learned Senior counsel for the petitioners submitted that for forming a new Gram Panchayat, a minimum population of more than 500 is required. However, the population of the newly formed Gram Panchayat is only 305 and therefore, it is in violation of the guidelines issued for the formation of a new Gram Panchayat. It is submitted that as the notification was issued on 15.07.2024 and immediately thereafter, the petitioners made representations on 07.08.2024 to the respondents, the same has not been considered so far.
