THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE J. SREENIVAS RAO I.A.Nos.1 and 2 of 2025 IN/AND CRIMINAL PETITION No.9623 of 2023

COMMON ORDER:

This Criminal Petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for short, ‘Cr.P.C.’) by the petitioners, who were arrayed as accused Nos.1 to 4, seeking to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.1670 of 2023 on the file of the V Additional Metropolitan Magistrate at L.B.Nagar, for the offences punishable under Sections 498(A) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Sections

3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

2. During the pendency of this criminal petition, petitioners/accused Nos.1 to 4 and respondent No.2/de-facto complainant have entered into compromise to resolve the disputes pending between them and filed joint affidavit along with I.A.No.2 of 2025 and also filed another I.A.No.1 of 2025 to record the compromise and to compound the offences.

The above said applications came up for consideration before this Court on 02.09.2025, and this Court directed the petitioners/accused Nos.1 to 4, and respondent No.2/de-facto complainant, to appear before the Secretary, Telangana High Court Legal Services Committee, along with their identity cards for their identification, on or before 06.09.2025, and further directed the Telangana High Court Legal Services Committee to submit a report by 10.09.2025. Pursuant to the same, Telangana High Court Legal Services Committee submitted report dated 04.09.2025.

4. Heard Mr.M.Dinesh Reddy, learned counsel representing Mr.Rapolu Bhaskar, learned counsel for petitioners and Mr.K.Bheemayya, learned counsel representing Mr.P.Srikar, learned counsel for respondent No.2.

5. Both the counsel submitted that the petitioners/accused Nos.1 to 4 and respondent No.2 entered into compromise at the instance of their well wishers and elders and settled their disputes. The terms of compromise were mentioned in the joint affidavit filed in support of I.A.No.2 of 2025.

6. Taking into consideration the above facts and circumstances including joint memo filed by both the parties, proceedings in C.C.No.1670 of 2023 on the file of the V Additional Metropolitan Magistrate at L.B.Nagar, against the petitioner/accused Nos.1 to 4 are liable to be quashed.

7. Accordingly, I.A.Nos.1 and 2 of 2025 are allowed. Consequently, the criminal petition is allowed and the proceedings in C.C.No.1670 of 2023 on the file of the V Additional Metropolitan Magistrate at L.B.Nagar, against the petitioner/accused Nos.1 to 4 are hereby quashed.

Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed.
