This writ petition is filed by the petitioner seeking to declare the action of respondent No.3 in not considering her representation dated 18.11.2024 for correction of names of her mother and father in the Death Certificate of her mother dated 29.12.2022 vide Registration No.7624, as being illegal, arbitrary and unconstitutional.
2. Heard Mr. M.R.S.Srinivas, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr. Srinivas Rao Pachwa, learned Standing Counsel for GHMC, appearing for respondents No.2 and 3; and perused the material on record.

It is stated that the name of the mother of the petitioner is Ms. Mutta Annapurna @ Annapurnamma; she died on 24.12.2022 and on intimation given by some of the relatives to the GHMC, her death was registered in the official records by recording her name as ‘Mutta Kasi Annapurna’ instead of ‘Mutta Annapurna @ Annapurnamma’. It is further stated that the name of the husband of Ms. Mutta Annapurna @ Annapuranna was wrongly recorded as ‘Mutta Seshayya’ instead of ‘Mutta Ramanadham’. Learned counsel submitted that Section 15 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 empowers respondent No.3 to make corrections whenever wrong entries are brought to his notice. Though representation dated 18.11.2024 was submitted for correction of names of the mother and father of the petitioner, so far, no action has been initiated, as such, the petitioner was constrained to approach this Court.
4. Learned Standing Counsel for GHMC submitted that appropriate action will be taken on the representation of the petitioner dated
18.11.2024 in accordance with law.

Recording the aforesaid submission, this writ petition is disposed of directing respondent No.3 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.11.2024 for correction of names of her mother and father in the Death Certificate of her mother dated 29.12.2022 vide Registration No.7624, by affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
There shall be no order as to costs.
As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous applications, if any, pending in this writ petition stand closed.
