With their consent, this writ petition is being taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. This writ petition has been filed seeking the following prayer:-

“...to direct the Respondents to restore the petitioners name to Ward No.2 electoral roll forthwith and publish a corrigendum entry to that effect and direct the Respondents to carry out an immediate verification of the petitioners ordinary place of residence and pending such verification to provisionally restore the petitioners electoral entry
