This Criminal Petition has been filed seeking to quash the proceedings in STC No.465 of 2021 on the file of learned Principal Junior Civil Judge-Cum-Judicial First Class Magistrate, Gajwel, wherein, the petitioner was arrayed as sole accused, for the offences punishable under Sections 323 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

2. Heard Mr.M.Amarnath, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Ramachandra Reddy, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for respondent No.1.

Though the criminal petition was filed seeking to quash the proceedings in STC No.465 of 2021, learned counsel for the petitioner requested this Court to dispense with the presence of the petitioner before the trial Court on the ground that the petitioner is aged about 65 years and he is suffering with old age ailments. He further submitted that the trial Court may be directed to expedite the proceedings
