Mr. L. Ram Singh, learned counsel appears for petitioner.

appears for respondent No.2.

2. The petitioner has approached this Court directing respondent No.2 to allow him to register his case for admission into Post Graduate Medical Courses for the academic year 2025-26 under Management Quota Category -

MQ-1, MQ-2(NRI), MQ-3 (institutional), for the next phase of counselling and subsequent phases, as he could not register within the cut-off date i.e., 11.10.2025 as mentioned in the notification dated 30.09.2025 issued by the respondent University.

According to the petitioner, the percentile scores for web based counselling for allotment of vacant seats under this quota have been reduced by the National Board of Examinations and consequently, by the respondent University vide notice dated 16.01.2026. According to the said notice also, the last date for registration was 20.01.2026. However, the petitioner has not been able to satisfy as to why he could not approach the Court earlier.

4. According to the learned counsel for the University, the process of counselling for admission to the stray vacancies is almost at the fag end. It is submitted that in such circumstances, if the claims of the persons like the petitioner are entertained, the admission process would never come to a close.

Upon hearing the learned counsel for the parties and on consideration of the facts and circumstances noted above, we do not find any explanation on behalf of the petitioner to approach this Court at such length of time for seeking permission to participate in the web based counselling in respect of the stray vacancies left. The admission process is at the fag end. If such plea is accepted, the admission process would never come to a close. Similar view has been taken by this Court in the order dated 27.01.2026 in Writ Petition No.2246 of 2026. Therefore, we are not inclined to entertain the present Writ Petition.

The instant Writ Petition is accordingly dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall stand closed.
