Heard Mr.T.Surya Satish, learned counsel for the petitioner

and Mr.G.Vidya Sagar, learned senior counsel representing Ms.K.Udaya Sri, learned counsel for the respondents. Perused the

record.

2. The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ

petition is prolonged placement under suspension.

3. The petitioner in the instant case stands suspended way

back on 31.08.2023, as such the petitioner is now under suspension for more than 2 ½ years. The disciplinary proceedings that has initiated, according to the petitioner, is proceeding at a

slow pace detrimental to the interest of the petitioner.

4. The learned senior counsel for the respondents also

contends that the enquiry as of now has been expedited and out of the total 25 witnesses cited, 17 have already been examined and only 8 more are left. Learned senior counsel further submits that the last extension of the suspension period of the petitioner was on 27.02.2026 for a period of further six (6) months which would be completed on 26.08.2026. According to the learned senior counsel, in all probability, the enquiry should conclude within fresh extended period. All efforts are being made to ensure the conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings before the fresh

extension that has now been granted on 27.02.2026.

5. In view of the submission made by learned senior

counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents and also taking

note of the present position of the disciplinary proceedings where 17 out of 25 witnesses has already been examined, we are of the considered opinion that at this juncture, it would not be proper for this Bench to make any observation or pass any order so far as period of the suspension is concerned. However, we direct the respondents to ensure that the disciplinary proceeding initiated must be expedited and ensure that the disciplinary proceedings

stands concluded within fresh extended period.

6. Accordingly, with the above observations, this writ

petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Consequently, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall

stand closed.
