Urban Development Department appearing for respondent No.1 and Sri

Pasham Mohit, learned Standing Counsel for GWMC appearing for

respondent No.2.

3. With the consent of both the parties, the matter is taken up for

disposal at the stage of admission.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the non-renewal

of his Trade License is illegal, arbitrary and violative of principles of

natural justice, as no reasoned order was passed despite submission of

the petitioner’s explanation. It is further contended that Respondent No.

2 acted at the instance of the landlord to settle a private civil dispute,

which is impermissible in law.

5. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for Respondent No.2

Corporation, on instructions, submits that the business of the petitioner

is not being interfered with and that the petitioner’s license has expired

on 31.03.2026. It is further submitted that the petitioner has to submit a

lease agreement for renewal of the same and upon submission of the

relevant documents, the renewal would be considered.

6. The learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the

petitioner has submitted all the relevant documents for renewal of the

trade license and that insistence on submission of lease agreement for

renewal of trade license is not warranted.

without insistence on submission of the lease agreement. There shall be

shall stand closed.
