Heard Sri Ch.Chaitanya Mithra, learned counsel for the petitioners and Sri Zeeshan Adnan Mahmood, learned Standing Counsel for the 2nd respondent.
2. Petitioners are residents of Domadugu Village, Bonthapalli, Sanga Reddy District. The 8th respondent company is also in the same village. It is engaged in manufacture of bulk drugs. The 8th respondent company has been discharging effluents into Nallakunta cheruvu. Therefore, they have submitted representations dated 08.10.2025 and 10.10.2025 to the 2nd respondent with a request to take action against 8th respondent. Despite receiving and acknowledging the said representations, the 2nd respondent did not act upon the same. Aggrieved by the same, petitioners filed the present Writ Petition.
3. Whereas Sri Zeeshan Adnan Mahmood, learned Standing Counsel for the 2nd respondent, has filed a memo along with paper clippings, orders, etc., to contend that the learned National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench at New Delhi, has taken up the issue suo motu vide O.A. No. 538 of 2025, and the same was transferred to the learned National Green Tribunal, Southern Zone, Chennai, where it was renumbered as O.A. No. 239 of 2025 (SZ). The 2nd respondent has also submitted its report before the learned National Green Tribunal, Southern Zone, Chennai, in O.A. No. 239 of 2025 (SZ)
4. In the light of the same, this Writ Petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioners to take steps to implead in O.A.No.239 of 2025 (SZ) before the learned National Green Tribunal, Southern Zone, Chennai, and espouse their case in the said O.A.
5. Miscellaneous applications, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
