SENSES TRANQUIL SALOON AND SPA – Appellant
Versus
The State of Telangana – Respondent
WRIT PETITION No. 18929 of 2026
For the Appellants/Petitioners: M. Triveni
For the Respondents: Assistant Government Pleader for Home
Business operators of SPA centres must adhere to court-mandated guidelines to ensure lawful operation and prevent arbitrary police interference, provided no violations of such guidelines or applicable laws occur.
Headnote:The petitioner, operating a saloon and spa, challenged the interference of police officials based on notification No.(L&O)/M4/3140/2010, alleging violations of Articles 14 and 19(1)(g) of the Constitution of India. The petitioner sought a direction to prevent arbitrary interference in their lawful business activities. The primary issue was whether the respondents were unlawfully interfering with the petitioner's business and whether the petitioner was required to follow specific court-mandated guidelines. The court observed that in W.P.No.16281 of 2010 and batch, comprehensive guidelines for the functioning of SPA centres had already been established to address allegations of misconduct in such establishments. In view thereof, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to strictly follow the guidelines issued by this Court in W.P.No.16281 of 2010 and batch.
