(2) Petitioner retired from Uttarakhand Pay Jal Nigam on 30.6.2024. Grievance raised by the petitioner is that a sum of ₹5,52,000, payable as gratuity, has not been released to him so far. In this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following relief:
” i) Issue, Writ, Order or direction in nature of mandamus commanding/directing the respondents to forthwith release the outstanding retiral dues/benefits, details whereof is given herein below:
1. Leave encashment Rs. 10,05,000/-
2. Gratuity Rs. 5,52,000/-
3. Due arrear Rs. 13,435/- 4. Due arrear Rs. 29,999/- 5. Due arrear Rs. 18,461/- 6. GDS Rs. 28,000/-
Net due amount Rs. 16,91,895/-“
(3) Having regard to the relief sought and the period spent after his retirement, this Court thinks that ends of justice would be met if petitioner is permitted to make representation for release of outstanding dues to the competent authority. Accordingly, writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to make representation within one week. If he makes representation within stipulated time, competent authority shall take decision in the matter, as per law, within six weeks thereafter.
