The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India with the following prayers:-

“(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant the pay scale and salary of the post of Principal to the petitioner w.e.f. 01.04.2024, i.e. from the date he assumed charge as Officiating Principal.

(ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to pay/release the arrears of salary of the post of Principal to the petitioner along with all consequential benefits within a stipulated period.

(iii) Issue any other order or direction which this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case.

(iv) Award cost of the petition.”

2 . Heard Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sharma, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. J. C. Pande, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent nos.1 to 4.

3 . Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Advocate, appearing for the petitioner, on instructions, has requested to decide the present writ petition by directing the Chief Education Officer, District Haridwar, the respondent no.4, to decide the petitioner’s representation dated 05.01.2025 (Annexure No.9 to the writ petition) as expeditiously as possible.

4 . The said request has not been opposed by learned counsel for the State.

5 . Having heard, the present writ petition is disposed of by directing the Chief Education Officer, District Haridwar, the respondent no.4, to decide the petitioner’s representation dated 05.01.2025 (Annexure No.9 to the writ petition) as expeditiously as possible, as per law, but not later than four weeks from the date of production of the certified copy of this order.

6 . It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merit of the case.
