1. Mr. Ankur Sharma, learned counsel for the petitioner.

2. Mr. B.C. Joshi, learned A.G.A for the State.

The petitioners Mohit Kumar, S/o Tirat Singh @ Kirat Singh and Ms. Rashmi D/o Shri Rakesh Kumar are praying for the adequate protection to their life and liberty who are present in Court since there is threat perception from the respondent no. 4 to 7. Respondent nos.4 and 5 are the parents of the petitioner no.2 and respondent no.6 and 7 are uncle and aunt of the petitioner no. 2.

4. It is contended that both the petitioners are in love with each other and both are major and married with each other in Shiv Mandir Roshnabad, Haridwaron 21.02.2026. It is submitted that according to their date of birth both are major. The date of birth of the petitioner no.1 is 04.07.1997 and the date of birth of petitioner no.2 is 01.01.2004. It is also contended that they have applied for registration of their marriage, which is still pending.

not disputed on the age of the petitioners and though the Aadhaar Card is not on perusing their Aadhaar Card, submits that both are major.

In such view of the matter, since both the petitioners are major and without any compulsion they married with each other, therefore, this Court is of the view that the State is under legal obligation to ensure safety and protection of the petitioners so that nobody may cause any harm to the petitioners. In this regard, the petitioners are directed to appear before the S.H.O. P.S. Kaliyar, District Haridwar the respondent no.3 and S.H.O. concerned shall assess the threat perception and if he comes to the conclusion that there is any threat perception, he shall take appropriate steps to secure the life and liberty to the petitioners.

7. Apart from this, the S.H.O. concerned shall call upon respondent no. 4 to 7 and advise them no to take the law in hands.

8. Since there is a regular threat perception to the petitioners and they are leaving to Haridwar, they may immediately approach to the S.H.O. Mallital, who shall make necessary arrangement so that they may safely reached their destination.

9. Subject to the observation as above, the instant writ petition is disposed of finally.
