2. Mr. Pradeep Hairiya, learned Standing Counsel for the State of Uttarakhand.

3. Mr. Neeraj Garg, learned counsel for the respondent.

4. Petitioner was engaged on contract for discharging duties as Clerk in Registration Department of the State w.e.f. 22.05.2017. However, process for regular selection against that post was held, and ultimately Ms. Jyoti Nag was allegedly offered appointment against the post of Registration Clerk on which petitioner was earlier engaged.

5. Petitioner contends in this writ petition that since Ms. Jyoti Nag has not joined duties against the post of Registration Clerk, therefore, petitioner may be permitted to continue against the said post.

6. Learned counsel for the petitioner concedes that petitioner is out of employment since 17.01.2022.

7. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs:-
