COMMON JUDGMENT:

These two Criminal Appeals are filed by the State assailing the judgment dated 12.7.2001 passed in S.C.No.110 of 2000 on the file of the Additional Assistant Sessions Judge, Srikakulam, whereby and whereunder, the learned Additional Assistant Sessions Judge found the accused Bommidi Venkata Ramana not guilty for the offences under Sections 354, 341 and 506(1) of IPC and acquitted him accordingly. However, the learned Additional Assistant Sessions Judge found the accused guilty for the offence under Section 509 of IPC, convicted him accordingly and sentenced him to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for one week.

2. Criminal Appeal No.114 of 2002 is filed assailing the acquittal of the respondent-accused for the offence under Sections 354 and 341 IPC, and whereas Criminal Appeal No.2427 of 2004 is filed seeking enhancement of punishment for the offence under Section 509 of IPC.
