It is the case of the petitioner that he appeared for

Common Entrance Test conducted by respondent No.2 on 4-

5/10/2021. The petitioner secured 82 marks out of 150 marks in

the said examination. The petitioner participated in the on line

admission process. There were three online rounds conducted by

respondent No.2. The petitioner's name appeared in the first list on

31/12/2021. His name was in the list published by Nalanda Law

College, Mumbai. The petitioner did not apply for the same as he

opted for the 2nd round to get better choice of the college. The

second round allotment list of the students was published on

31/1/2022. The name of the petitioner appeared in the list of Lords

Universal Law College, Mumbai. Again he contemplated

admission in better college and did not take the admission. Third

round list was published on 14/2/2022. His name did not figure in

the said list. At the end of the 3rd round the date for admission to

the 3rd round was extended till 25/2/2022 and thereafter online

admission process was closed. Since the petitioner did not get

admission in the 3rd round, he made inquiry with various colleges.

The colleges refused to give him admission on the ground that the

petitioner even after completion of online and offline admission

process, number of seats are vacant and available. It is stated that

respondent No.2 has closed the offline admission. The revised

cutoff date for admission was 28/2/2022. The colleges have

refused to give him admission. It is submitted that the petitioner

has secured the qualifying marks in the CET. Seats are available,

however due to expiry of the offline admission date, he is not

getting the admission. The petitioner has submitted that if he loses

an opportunity of admission, his one precious year would be lost.
