: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of

India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent

No.3 to rectify the error made in the crop insurance application as

if the petitioner's village namely Seyyalur Village instead of

Pogalur Village, Ramanathapuram District based on the available

Revenue Records and direct the Respondent No.1 to provide

Agriculture Crop Insurance to the petitioner for the year 2017-2018

under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme by considering the

representation dated 16.02.2022 made by the petitioner.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a

direction to the respondent No.3 to rectify the error made in the

crop insurance application where the petitioner has wrongly

mentioned as Pogalur Village instead of Seyyalur Village,

Ramanathapuram District for the purpose of availing benefits under

the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme based on the

petitioner's representation dated 16.02.2022, within a time frame to

be fixed by this Court.

2.According to the learned counsel appearing for the

petitioner, the correct name of the Village is Seyyalur Village and

in the representation, the correct name of the Village was given.

The said statement is recorded.

3.It is the case of the petitioner that she has submitted an

application for crop insurance under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima

Yojana Scheme for the year 2017-18. In the said application, the

name of the village has been wrongly mentioned as Pogalur Village

instead of Seyyalur Village, which is the correct name of the

Village. The petitioner has sought to rectify the said error by

giving a representation on 16.02.2022.

Since the said

representation has not been considered till date, she has filed this

writ petition.

4.Heard Mr.I.Pinaygash, learned counsel appearing for the writ

petitioner, Mr.D.Srinivasaraghavan, learned Standing Counsel

appearing for the first respondent and Mr.D.Sasikumar, learned

Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 2 and 3.

5.No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the

representation seeking for rectification of the error in her earlier

application submitted for crop insurance under the Pradhan Mantri

Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme is considered on merits and in accordance

with law. The petitioner claims that in her earlier application,

she has wrongly disclosed the name of the village as Pogalur Village

instead of Seyyalur Village, which is the correct name of the

Village.

6.In the result, this Court directs the third respondent to

consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.02.2022 requesting

the third respondent to rectify the error made by the petitioner in

her application seeking for crop insurance under the Pradhan Mantri

Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme for the year 2017-18, wherein the

petitioner claims to have given the name of the Village as Pogalur

Village instead of Seyyalur Village, which is
